Fountain pens have many appeals that make them more than just writing instruments. On the other hand, some people have experience not being able to write smoothly with fountain pens, and others feel that they are a bit pretentious. Our wish was to deliver personalized writing comfort to all, including those who tend to shy away from fountain pens. That is how TUZU was born.

There is a correct position for the fountain pen nib. In an incorrect position, ink won't flow properly. People unaccustomed to fountain pens may feel that they are difficult to understand and use.

TUZU ADJUST is equipped with the "Rotating Nib Feature" which enables change of nib angle and gripping position, creating a personalized fit to suit each individual. We asked people to try writing with the nib and the grip in the standard positions, then to try again after adjusting positions to suit their writing styles/habits.

Tried a fountain pen in the past, but couldn't stick with it. I write with my fingers extended so the nib faces inward, but with TUZU I can adjust to the best angle for me.

HOW TO USE

How to Rotate TUZU Nib

Open the cap, twist off the barrel and pull the ring down.
Slide the grip as shown in (①), and as shown in (②), adjust the nib and grip to the angle that suits you.
Choose desired angle and slide the grip back on, then push the ring back up to its original position.
Reattach the barrel.
With nib's anchor icon facing up, write with pen at a slight slant.

How to refill fountain pen ink

If you use cartridge ink

Remove the cap and take off the barrel.
Locate the ink cartridge slot (it’s the one with the concave or pointed arrow).
With the nib facing upward, insert the ink cartridge straight down into the back of the pen.
Note: Please be cautious not to twist or apply excessive force when inserting it, as this may damage the cartridge ink or the pen nib.
After reattaching the barrel, the ink will be drawn up from the pen nib, and the pen will be ready to write.

If you use converter

Remove the cap and take off the barrel.
Insert the converter firmly into place.
Turn the converter knob in the direction of the arrow to lower the piston.
With the nib still in the bottle, insert the nib into the bottle of ink until the heart-shaped hole is submerged in the ink.
Slowly turn the knob in the direction of the arrow to fill the converter with ink.
Once the ink has been successfully drawn into the converter, reinsert the barrel. Wipe off any excess ink on the nib using a soft cloth or tissue paper.

How to care for fountain pens

Different ink refilling styles require different cleaning methods. Here’s what you need and how to do it. Materials Needed: Fountain pen to be cleaned, cup of water, soft cloth or tissue paper. Note: Avoid using wet wipes, cloths, or chemicals containing alcohol to clean the body or lid, as this can damage the resin.

If you use cartridge ink

Remove the cap and take off the barrel.
Pull out the used ink cartridge from the gripping section and dispose of it properly.
Place the gripping section in a glass of water gently.
Let the entire gripping section soak in water overnight.
Note: For transparent or skeleton-colored nibs, avoid soaking to prevent ink pigmentation. Instead, rinse only the nib with water.
Rinse the gripping section with tap water.
Thoroughly wipe it dry with a soft cloth or tissue paper.
Note: The cleaning process is complete when no dark-colored ink adheres to the cloth or tissue paper.

If you use converter

Remove the cap and take off the barrel.
Dip the nib into a glass of water and turn the converter’s knob to draw in water, just as you would with ink.
Turn the converter’s knob the other way to expel the drawn-in water. Repeat this process of drawing in and expelling water 5-6 times.
Remove the converter from the nib, replace the water in the glass, and immerse the entire nib section in water overnight.
Note: For transparent or skeleton-colored nibs, avoid soaking to prevent ink pigmentation. Instead, rinse only the nib with water.
Rinse the nib section with tap water.
Thoroughly wipe it dry with a soft cloth or tissue paper.
Note: The cleaning process is complete when no dark-colored ink adheres to the cloth or tissue paper.
